Hands down Defeater’s “Lost Ground” is one of the best albums I have heard in the past few years. The story, the lyrics, the passion, the emotion, the pain behind the songs. The way they put this album together is just one that can run from Track to Track without ever having to skip and just keep playing and playing and playing. I wish more bands had the guts or the balls to do what Defeater did on this album. This past year I’ve seen Have Heart and Verse say goodbye live. I’ve seen Floorpunch and Guns Up! reunite. I’ve heard good albums and bad albums. I saw sound and fury. I saw death, pain, heartache, heartbreak. This past year I also heard the next great artists of hardcore. Their name is Defeater and the art is “Lost Ground”
I don’t know, Ruiner and Reign made the top 5?
